UditVani, Jamshedpur : Consumers in Jamshedpur are facing another financial setback as fuel prices saw a sharp upward revision on Monday, increasing the cost burden on daily commuters and transport operators alike.
Under the latest rate revision effective May 25, the price of Motor Spirit (Petrol) has risen from Rs 102.61 per litre to Rs 105.27 per litre, reflecting an increase of Rs 2.66 per litre. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) recorded a hike of Rs 2.83 per litre, moving from Rs 97.61 per litre to Rs 100.44 per litre.
Premium Speed Petrol has also become dearer, climbing from Rs 111.54 per litre to Rs 114.21 per litre.
The latest fuel price surge is expected to impact not only individual vehicle owners but also public transport and goods carriers, raising concerns over a possible increase in transportation fares and commodity prices in the coming days. “Every increase at the fuel station means cutting down expenses elsewhere at home. It’s becoming harder for middle-class families to cope,” said a concerned resident of Jamshedpur.
“Fuel prices affect everything—from transport charges to food delivery costs. The burden ultimately falls on the common man,” remarked a local cab operator. As fuel prices continue their upward trend, citizens are bracing for a wider economic impact, with many hoping for relief in the coming weeks
