
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand experienced a steady rise in daytime temperatures even as mornings remained relatively cool, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Realised Weather Report issued from the Meteorological Centre at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi.
The observations indicated dry weather conditions across the state with no rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours.
Chaibasa (PTO) emerged as the hottest location, recording a maximum temperature of 32.4°C, which was 4.2 degrees above normal. Bokaro (Thermal) followed with 30.1°C, showing a sharp departure of 4.3 degrees above normal.
Daltonganj registered 30.6°C, 2.4 degrees above normal, while Jamshedpur recorded 30.4°C, 1.3 degrees above normal. Ranchi reported a comparatively moderate maximum of 27.0°C, one degree above the seasonal average.
Despite warmer afternoons, early morning temperatures reflected a lingering winter touch in several districts. Gumla (AWS) recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 6.4°C.
Daltonganj reported 8.8°C, Chaibasa 11.6°C, Ranchi 10.9°C, and Jamshedpur 12.6°C, with many stations registering below-normal minimum temperatures.
Data from Automated Weather Stations across districts showed a similar pattern. Saraikela recorded a maximum of 32.0°C, Baharagora in East Singhbhum 30.5°C, Simdega (Bano) 29.2°C, and Deoghar and Pakur 28.5°C each.
Morning lows dipped to 7.7°C in Khunti and 7.8°C in Lohardaga, underscoring the contrast between warm afternoons and cool dawn hours.
The IMD report confirmed nil rainfall across all observatories during the last 24 hours.
The lowest visibility was recorded in Jamshedpur at 2000 metres. In Ranchi city, Hinoo station reported a maximum temperature of 27.0°C and a minimum of 10.9°C, with dry conditions prevailing.
Overall, the state continues to witness clear skies, rising day temperatures and cool mornings, with dry weather likely to persist in the immediate term.
