UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a significant internal reshuffle aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, Tata Steel has deputed Subhendu Naskar, Head of SSP (O&M) at Bishnupur, to its Gamharia plant on a temporary basis.
The transfer, effective from April 2, 2026, will remain in force for a period of six months.
During his tenure at Gamharia, Naskar will oversee Steel Melting Shop (SMS) operations and focus exclusively on plant-related responsibilities.
Despite the temporary assignment, he will continue to hold administrative accountability for his position at Bishnupur SSP in line with company policy.
Sources within the company indicated that the move has been driven by commercial considerations and the need to enhance operational performance at the Gamharia unit, a crucial hub for Tata Steel’s long products business.
Naskar’s extensive experience in operations and maintenance at the Special Steel Plant is expected to play a pivotal role in reinforcing SMS operations at the facility.
