UditVani, Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan chaired a comprehensive review meeting of development schemes being implemented under the District Development, District Planning, and District Rural Development branches, directing officials to remove technical and administrative bottlenecks and accelerate project completion ahead of the monsoon.
Held at the district collectorate auditorium, the meeting assessed the progress of key development initiatives, including infrastructure projects, rural housing schemes, MGNREGA works, and projects funded through various government grants.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely execution, quality monitoring, and accountability at every administrative level.
During the meeting, all Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Circle Officers (COs) were instructed to stay stationed at their respective block headquarters, maintain punctuality, and ensure prompt redressal of public grievances.
He warned that complaints regarding absenteeism or negligence in addressing citizens’ concerns would be taken seriously.
Stressing the importance of regular field visits and continuous monitoring, Rajiv Ranjan said proactive public engagement must remain central to administrative functioning.
Reviewing pending rural housing projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to complete all houses that have reached plinth and lintel levels by the end of May.
He asked departments to maintain close coordination with beneficiaries and swiftly resolve technical and administrative hurdles to ensure timely completion of all pending units.
On MGNREGA implementation, he issued strict instructions to Block Programme Officers (BPOs) to ensure that at least five schemes are operational in every village within a week.
He also emphasized increasing person-days of employment, generating more rural job opportunities, and completing critical infrastructure-related works before the onset of rains.
Priority was given to water conservation initiatives, rural connectivity roads, ponds, and other community assets.
The meeting also reviewed development and infrastructure projects being executed under DMFT, untied funds, NITI Aayog funds, MP Local Area Development Fund, and MLA funds.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all executing agencies to ensure quality, timely completion, and regular monitoring so that the benefits of development schemes reach the last mile without delay.
The review meeting was attended by NEP Director Santosh Garg, along with all BDOs, COs, BPOs, and other concerned officials.
