UditVani, Jamshedpur: A gruesome triple murder in Agrico under the Sidhgora police station area on Monday sent shockwaves across the city after three members of the same family were found brutally killed inside their residence.
The incident took place at Quarter No. L-13 on Road No. 2 in Agrico, where police recovered the blood-soaked bodies of the accused’s wife, pregnant daughter, and son.
The deceased have been identified as Sarita Singh (55), Supriya Singh (31), and Ravishek Kumar (30).
Supriya, who was married, was reportedly expecting a child.
Police suspect Ravindra Prasad Singh, a retired Tata Steel employee, to be the prime accused in the killings.
He has been absconding since the incident and a search operation is underway to trace him.
According to preliminary findings, the victims appear to have been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.
Local sources claimed that an axe may have been used in the assault, though officials are yet to confirm the exact murder weapon.
In a chilling development, sources said the accused himself allegedly informed the police about the incident over the phone.
Acting on the information, Sidhgora police rushed to the house, sealed the premises, and launched an investigation.
News of the horrific crime spread rapidly, drawing a large crowd of shocked residents to the Agrico neighbourhood and creating a tense atmosphere.
Neighbours said Ravindra Prasad Singh had retired from Tata Steel in February this year and that domestic disputes had reportedly become frequent within the family after his retirement.
However, no one had anticipated such a tragic turn of events.
Police have begun questioning neighbours and collecting evidence from the crime scene.
A forensic team is expected to assist in the investigation, while raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused.
The brutal killings have left Jamshedpur deeply shaken, raising fresh concerns over domestic violence and mental distress within households.
