UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a significant crackdown, Kadma police have arrested three criminals near Marine Drive with illegal weapons, potentially preventing a major criminal incident.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, the police swiftly conducted a raid and apprehended the suspects, identified as Shahrukh Khan, Lalit Yadav, and Rakesh Kumar. All three have been remanded to judicial custody.
Swift Police Action Based on Intelligence
City Superintendent of Police Kumar Shivashish stated that authorities received reliable information about suspicious individuals carrying illegal firearms and possibly planning a serious crime in the Marine Drive area. A prompt response by the police led to the successful arrest of the trio.
Seizure of Lethal Weapons
From the accused, police recovered a loaded country-made pistol with a magazine containing two live cartridges, a country-made firearm (katta), and one additional live round. According to police sources, these weapons were likely intended for use in a violent criminal act.
Investigation into Criminal Links Underway
The incident has raised serious concerns among residents, especially due to the arrests taking place in a busy public area. Locals have lauded the police’s quick action and demanded increased patrolling to ensure public safety.
Police are currently investigating the suspects’ criminal backgrounds and attempting to uncover any broader network connections. Initial findings suggest possible links to organized criminal groups.
SP’s Assurance of Citywide Crackdown
SP Kumar Shivashish assured that a special surveillance drive will soon be launched across the city. “Under no circumstances will anti-social elements be allowed to thrive in Jamshedpur. We are committed to ensuring law and order, and the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities,” he added.
Police have intensified efforts to trace the origin of the seized weapons and dismantle any associated supply chains, with further arrests not being ruled out.
