Udit vani,Jamshedpur: In a significant departure from its long-standing tradition, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to declare the Class 10th results before the Class 12th results this year. Officials from the Ministry of Education and the Board are working around the clock to finalize the results within the stipulated timeline.
April Deadline for Class 10th, May for Class 12th
According to the latest information regarding the result timelines:
Class 10th: Results are expected to be announced anytime after the second week of April.
Class 12th: Students may have to wait until the third week of May for their results.
The Reason Behind the Change (New Exam Policy)
The primary driver for this major shift is CBSE’s new decision to conduct Board Examinations twice a year. The Board aims to release the results of the first session as early as possible so that students can participate in the second examination cycle without any delay in the academic process.
Departure from Previous Trends
In the last two years (2024 and 2025), CBSE released the results for both Class 10th and 12th on the same day—May 13th. However, the New Education Policy and the introduction of biannual exams have made this change mandatory for the 2026 session. This year, approximately 46 lakh students across the country appeared for the board exams.
Smooth Conduct of Examinations
The Board expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the current session, noting that exams were conducted peacefully nationwide. No untoward incidents or complaints were reported from any examination center. The Board emphasized that the entire process was executed with a focus on student safety and convenience, including centers in Jamshedpur and other regions of Jharkhand.
