
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand continued to experience dry and stable weather conditions as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) released its realised weather report on Tuesday, highlighting comfortable daytime temperatures alongside noticeably cold nights across the state.
As per IMD observations recorded at 8.30 am on February 10, Ranchi registered a maximum temperature of 25.4°C, slightly below the seasonal average, while the minimum temperature stood at 10.8°C, also below normal.
Jamshedpur saw warmer conditions during the day with the mercury climbing to 29.4°C, marginally above normal, and a minimum temperature of 13.6°C.
In Daltonganj, the maximum temperature touched 29.8°C, significantly above normal, even as the night temperature dipped sharply to 7.7°C, reflecting a pronounced cold spell during late-night and early-morning hours.
Several other regions reported above-normal daytime temperatures, including Bokaro (Thermal) at 29.2°C and Chaibasa at 32.0°C, one of the highest in the state.
Despite the warmth during the day, minimum temperatures in many districts remained well below normal, underlining strong diurnal variation typical of this time of year.
Seraikela AWS recorded the highest maximum temperature at 31.0°C, while Gumla AWS reported the lowest minimum temperature of 5.5°C.
No rainfall was recorded at any station across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, the IMD said, maintaining a continued dry spell over the region.
Visibility levels were lowest at Jamshedpur Meteorological Office, where it dropped to 2,000 metres during the observation period.
Data from Automated Weather Stations across the state showed maximum temperatures largely ranging between the mid-20s and low-30s, while minimum temperatures fell below 10°C in areas such as Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga and Bokaro. Ranchi (Aero) recorded a maximum temperature of 24.9°C and a minimum of 10.8°C, reinforcing the trend of pleasant days and chilly mornings.
Overall, the IMD assessment points to calm and dry weather prevailing across Jharkhand, with no immediate indication of rainfall and a clear contrast between daytime warmth and nighttime chill continuing over the coming days.
