
UditVani, Jamshedpur: A serious case of harassment, stalking and death threats against a young woman has come to light in the Azadnagar police station area of Jamshedpur.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, police have registered a named FIR against two youths and launched raids to arrest them.
According to the police, the main accused has been identified as Ajmal Hussain, a resident of Tajnagar under the Kapali police station area. The second accused is said to be a close associate of Ajmal, whose identity and whereabouts are currently being traced.
In her complaint, the victim stated that she had been subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment for the past five months.
The accused allegedly used to stop her on the way, follow her, and repeatedly threaten to kill her, forcing her to live in constant fear and stress.
The victim told the police that she was earlier on friendly terms with Ajmal, and both families were aware of their interaction.
However, after her family learned about Ajmal’s behaviour and background, talks of marriage were called off. Following this, Ajmal allegedly became aggressive, started threatening her, attempting to defame her, and continued to harass her with the help of his friend.
Fed up with the continuous harassment, the victim and her family finally approached Azadnagar police station and lodged a formal complaint.
Taking the matter seriously, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of law.
The station in-charge stated that the FIR has been filed based on the victim’s statement and available evidence, and efforts are underway to arrest both accused at the earliest.
Police officials have made it clear that such acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The safety of the victim is being given top priority, and strict legal action will be taken against the accused.
