UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries President, Manav Kedia, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressing concern over the increasing congestion and frequent delays of trains at Tatanagar Railway Station under South Eastern Railway. He has suggested that the destination and stoppage point of certain trains be shifted to the nearby Adityapur Railway Station to reduce the load on Tatanagar.
Kedia stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, railway stations across the country are undergoing rapid redevelopment and modernization. As part of this progress, the Adityapur Railway Station—located about five kilometres from Tatanagar—has also been upgraded, with 3–4 platforms already constructed.
He added that due to the heavy volume of trains at Tatanagar, many trains are currently running hours behind schedule. Shifting the stoppage point of some trains to Adityapur would ease congestion at Tatanagar, improve punctuality, and provide significant relief to passengers.
The Chamber President also listed a few trains that, he suggested, could initially be operated from Adityapur on a trial basis:
Tatanagar–Jaynagar Express (18119/18120)
South Bihar Express (13287/13288)
Tatanagar–Thawe Express (18181/18182)
Kedia has requested the Prime Minister to issue necessary directions to South Eastern Railway to consider this proposal seriously, so that passengers can get relief from persistent delays.
