
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Karn Satyarthi, visited Kantashola village under Dumaria block to review the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Smart Gram Yojana and inspected the micro-economic zone developed under the scheme.
During his visit, he interacted with local women, farmers, and youth, gathering feedback on livelihood-based initiatives and emphasized the need to expand these activities to enhance economic self-reliance.
Highlighting the scheme as a robust tool to strengthen the rural economy, boost self-sufficiency, and create local employment opportunities, the DC stressed the importance of active community participation. He also called for providing technical training and access to modern resources to empower rural residents.

Under the micro-economic zone initiative in Kantashola, women and farmers are being trained and engaged in various livelihood activities, including:
* Agriculture-based ventures like nurseries, kitchen gardens, and solar-powered irrigation.
* Water conservation initiatives.
* Small-scale enterprises such as rice hullers, grinding machines, flour mills, oil mills, and sanitary napkin production
* Livestock rearing and poultry development, animal vaccination programs
* Infrastructure development including storage and marketing facilities
Commending these efforts, DC Satyarthi directed officials to scale up training for women and farmers, while ensuring active participation of youth in technical sectors.
He underscored the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure transparency, accountability, and sustained beneficiary support.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need to integrate environmental protection into all ongoing activities.
He noted that micro-economic zones serve as a powerful means to boost rural economies, increase the economic participation of women and farmers, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
He further instructed that the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Smart Gram Yojana must be inclusive, effective, and outcome-oriented at the grassroots level to realize the state government’s vision for rural development and self-reliance.
