UditVani, Jamshedpur: Reinforcing its commitment to a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment, XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, conducted a comprehensive Gender Sensitization and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness Session for its faculty and administrative staff.
Organized under the aegis of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), the session saw active participation from 146 members across the institution.
The session was facilitated by Prof. Ayatakshee Sarkar, Convenor of the ICC and a certified POSH trainer, who provided an in-depth overview of the POSH Act, 2013. Her presentation covered key areas, including:
Legal mandates and structure of the ICC
Confidentiality protocols and due process in complaint resolution
Addressing myths about false complaints and evidence
Understanding sexual harassment in both physical and digital contexts
The vital role of faculty and staff as ethical leaders
“Creating a respectful and inclusive academic space is not just a legal obligation—it’s a collective moral duty,” emphasized Prof. Sarkar.
She urged all stakeholders to actively contribute to fostering a culture of dignity and mutual respect.
The session concluded with an open Q&A segment, offering participants a platform to clarify doubts and voice concerns in a safe and supportive setting.
This initiative followed similar sensitization sessions held for students, showcasing XLRI’s integrated approach to campus safety and empowerment. By engaging all members of its academic community, the institution affirms its stance as a values-driven, socially responsible leader in higher education.
For POSH-related concerns, all stakeholders are encouraged to reach out to the Internal Complaints Committee.
