Jamshedpur : A shift in weather conditions is on the horizon for Jharkhand and neighboring parts of eastern and central India as multiple weather systems converge over the region.
According to the latest meteorological reports, a Western Disturbance—visible as a trough in the mid to upper troposphere—is currently extending from North Bihar down to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, cutting across Jharkhand and Odisha. This trough is positioned approximately 5.8 km above sea level.
Simultaneously, a secondary trough associated with a cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh is extending toward South Gangetic West Bengal. This system, which reaches up to 1.5 km above sea level, is also influencing the weather across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
As a result of the interaction between these systems, isolated parts of Jharkhand are expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds between April 16 and April 19. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 30-40 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 kmph.
Residents are urged to stay alert, exercise caution, and monitor local weather advisories for timely updates. The period may also bring increased cloud cover, light to moderate rainfall, and shifts in temperature patterns.
