UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC Reserves produced a spirited performance to secure a stunning 3-1 victory over Mizoram Youth Football Foundation in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Zonal Round, despite being reduced to 10 men in the first half.
The hard-fought win marked a strong comeback for Jamshedpur FC, who returned to winning ways and climbed to third place in the standings with six points from four matches.
The match took a dramatic turn in the 30th minute when Amzard Khand received his marching orders for a soft challenge, leaving Jamshedpur FC with a numerical disadvantage. Instead of faltering, the setback ignited a fierce response from the team, who launched wave after wave of attacks. Their persistence paid off just three minutes later, as Lawmsangzuala orchestrated a brilliant move down the right flank before setting up Bivan Jyoti Laskar, who finished in style to give Jamshedpur the lead.
However, Mizoram Youth Football Foundation struck back on the stroke of halftime, restoring parity before the break.
Jamshedpur FC emerged for the second half with renewed determination and soon reclaimed the lead.
Bivan, instrumental once again, delivered a perfect cross into the box, where Remson applied a clinical finish to put his side ahead.
The victory was sealed in the 87th minute when Lawmsangzuala capped off his outstanding performance with a beautifully taken goal, ensuring Jamshedpur FC took home all three points. With this win, Jamshedpur FC Reserves have boosted their hopes of progressing further and will now turn their focus to their crucial encounter against NorthEast United FC on February 12.
