UditVani, Jamshedpur: Railway Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) handed over platform no. one and two of Adityapur railway station to the railways following completion of work for the new third line.
Presently, only goods trains will operate on these platforms. Several work are in progress for the development of the station and for the convenience of passengers.
RVNL had carried out demolition work at Adityapur station and surrounding areas during the construction of the new third line.
Now that the work on the third line has been completed, work to increase passenger facilities on the platform will begin.
According to railway officials, lifts, escalators, stalls and other facilities will soon be made available on the platform for passengers.
Shed construction continues on foot over bridge :
The work of construction of a shed on the foot overbridge connecting the platforms is going on under the supervision of the engineering department of the railways. The project will protect passengers from rain and other adverse weather condition.
Adityapur station heading towards terminal construction
South Eastern Railway zone is working on a plan to make Adityapur station the terminal zone of Tatanagar. Under this, additional platforms are being built at the station. Along with this, the parking and portico is being beautified. The work of ticket counter, waiting hall, toilet and water booth has been completed.
Order issued for restaurant on wheels :
Order to open “Restaurant on Wheels” for passengers at the station has been given from Chakradharpur railway division. This initiative will prove to be a new and attractive facility for the passengers.
RVNL official’s statement
A senior RVNL official said, “The platforms of Adityapur station have been handed over to the railways. The work of the third line has been successfully completed now the railways is working rapidly to develop passenger facilities on the platform.”
This development of Adityapur station will not only provide more facilities to the passengers, but will also improve the freight transportation and operations.
