UditVani, Jamshedpur: Living up to the true spirit of Diwali, District Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Vijaya Jadhav, celebrated the festival of lights with orphan children in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential School at Golmuri in Jamshedpur on Sunday.
SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Sinha, DEO Nirmala Barelia, DSE Nisha Kumari, CDPO Jamshedpur Sadar Durgesh Nandini accompanied her during the visit.
Bablu Soren, a student of class 8, presented a painting of Mahatma Gandhi to the Deputy Commissioner. Vijaya Jadhav said that she would put this painting up in the office of the Deputy Commissioner. Somwari Sabar also reached to receive her.
Some children put forth a demand to build a playground and install a swing. The Deputy Commissioner assured that these facilities would be made available in their school soon.
District administration officials also visited the house of martyr Manoj Kumar in Bistupur and met his wife Sunita Sharma, children and other family members and wished them a happy Diwali by providing them clothes.
District administration officials visited Jagmaya Devi, Mother Shaheed Kishan Dubey- Keitadih, Durgavati Devi, Wife Martyr Jitendra Kumar-Bagbeda, Naib Subedar Naveen Kumar, Father Shaheed Manoranjan Kumar (Shaurya Chakra posthumously) Baliguma, the house of martyr Ganesh Hansda, Baharagora and honored them.
