UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a refreshing departure from conventional student events, the IDS6 Hackathon hosted by Young Indians (Yi), Jamshedpur in Sunday, transformed innovation into a deeply human experience by asking participants to switch off their mobile phones and laptops for the first half of the day.
What followed was a vibrant exchange of ideas, marked by intense discussions, collaboration, and raw, unfiltered thinking, as students worked collectively to address a pressing issue — the Campus-to-Career gap.
From reimagining the role of ITIs and NGOs to crafting solutions tailored for industries such as mining, manufacturing, and MSMEs, participants demonstrated both creativity and a grounded understanding of local realities.
The initiative was spearheaded by Yi Innovation Chair Shraddha Agarwal and Co-Chair Priyanka Agarwal, with mentorship support from Rohit Kedia and Vivek Debuka.
The second half of the hackathon introduced industry insights, featuring an eminent jury panel comprising Udit Agarwal, Rohit Goyal, Punit Kauntia, and Poornima Dore, who guided and evaluated the teams.
As the clock struck 4 pm , the event transitioned into high-energy presentations, with teams pitching their solutions with clarity and conviction.
The hackathon culminated in the selection of the top five teams, who will now move into a crucial phase of pilot implementation over the next two weeks under continued mentorship.
Their outcomes will be showcased at a final presentation event.
More than just a competition, IDS6 stood out as a dynamic platform that empowered students to step beyond classroom learning and emerge as real-world problem solvers, equipped to bridge the gap between education and employment.
