UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a decisive late-night operation near the Kharkai railway bridge under the jurisdiction of the Jugsalai police station, two active members of the notorious Manish Singh gang were arrested and sent to judicial custody.
The accused have been identified as Roshan Singh and Deepak Singh, residents of Gaushala Nala Road in Jugsalai.
Police recovered one country-made pistol, four live cartridges, and mobile phones from their possession during the raid.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Officer-in-Charge Baijnath Kumar stated that the police had received credible intelligence about a group of six to seven youths assembling near the Kharkai Railway Bridge under suspicious circumstances.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to carry out a coordinated operation.
The team strategically cordoned off the area and launched a targeted raid, successfully apprehending two suspects.
However, several other members of the group managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
According to the police, the arrested individuals are closely linked to the Manish Singh gang, which is allegedly involved in plotting extortion from local traders by intimidation and threats.
The seized mobile phones are currently under forensic examination to trace the gang’s wider network and track down the absconding members.
Police have intensified raids at suspected hideouts to ensure the swift arrest of the remaining accused, reaffirming their commitment to curbing organized criminal activities in the region.
