UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur witnessed a significant milestone in child healthcare as Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), in collaboration with Tata Main Hospital (TMH), the District Health Authority, East Singhbhum, and the Anushkaa Foundation for Eliminating Clubfoot, marked the success of the Clubfoot Elimination Project.
A felicitation programme titled “Nayi Raahein: Naye Kadam” was organised at the Tribal Cultural Centre, Sonari, to recognise the collective efforts behind the initiative.
The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum Karn Sathyarti, IAS, as the Chief Guest. Prominent dignitaries present included Rajiv Mangal, Vice President – Safety, Health and Sustainability, Tata Steel; Dr. Sahir Pall, Civil Surgeon, East Singhbhum; and Sourav Roy, CEO, Tata Steel Foundation. Senior medical leaders from TMH and Sadar Hospital, along with orthopaedic specialists and frontline health workers, also attended the programme.
Over the last two years, the project has identified and enrolled more than 80 children affected by clubfoot across East Singhbhum.
Treatment is being provided through the Ponseti Method, a globally recognised, non-surgical and cost-effective technique that ensures early correction and long-term mobility.
The success of the initiative has been driven by the active participation of families, government health workers, the MANSI+ team, and the voluntary services of orthopaedic surgeons, DNB residents, dressers, and medical staff from TMH and Sadar Hospital.
During the ceremony, doctors and healthcare workers were felicitated for their dedicated service, while families of the children were honoured for their resilience and commitment throughout the treatment process.
