UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Jamshedpur Super League, celebrated as one of India’s most inclusive grassroots football platforms, is set to elevate its community focus with the return and expansion of the Mothers’ and Fathers’ Leagues.
After a highly successful debut last year, the 2025 edition promises even greater participation, strengthening the city’s growing football culture.
This season, the Mothers’ League will see 11 teams featuring 132 players—an impressive rise that reflects increasing enthusiasm among women to engage in the sport.
The Fathers’ League has also widened its footprint, with 16 teams and 192 players taking part, further highlighting the growing trend of families embracing football together.
Running parallel to the Jamshedpur Super League—where more than 1,200 children are competing this year—the parents’ leagues will be played every Sunday across Jamshedpur.

The initiative reinforces the league’s founding vision: making football accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience.
Kundan Chandra, Head of Grassroots and Youth Development at Jamshedpur FC, said the surge in participation showcases the lasting impact of the tournament. “This edition is bigger than last year’s inaugural league, and the response has been tremendous. When parents participate, football becomes a natural part of daily life. These community tournaments are vital for sustaining long-term interest and keeping the sport vibrant in Jamshedpur,” he noted.
As the Mothers’ and Fathers’ Leagues kick off this week, alongside the bustling children’s competition, Jamshedpur gears up for yet another spirited chapter in its grassroots football journey.
