UditVani, Jamshedpur: The Ghatshila – based Sona Devi University has taken a major stride in the field of higher and technical education by becoming the first university in Jharkhand to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.
The collaboration aims to empower students with cutting-edge digital skills, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The MoU was formally signed during the AI Impact Festival 2025 held in New Delhi.
The event was inaugurated by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla.
The signing took place in the presence of Union secretary S. Krishnan, Additional Secretary Abhishek Singh, Intel Foundation’s Global Head Sarah Kemp, and Santosh Viswanathan from Intel India.
Representing Intel, Senior Director (Asia Pacific & Japan) Shweta Khurana signed the agreement, while Chancellor of Prabhakar Singh represented Sona Devi University.
The agreement will be effective from December 1, 2025 and will remain valid until November 30, 2027.
Under this partnership, the two institutions will jointly develop and implement AI-driven academic programs, support digital literacy, build faculty capabilities through development programs, and offer co-branded certifications to enhance students’ employability in a growing digital economy.
This strategic alliance also aligns with the Government of India’s future plans.
In February 2026, the Centre will host a national-level conference in New Delhi to launch AI for All, aimed at bringing stakeholders and researchers in electronics and IT together.
The initiative is supported by NITI Aayog, Atal Innovation Mission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

* Introduction of certificate, diploma, and degree-level courses in AI at Sona Devi University.
Speaking on the milestone collaboration, university officials expressed confidence that the partnership would revolutionize AI learning and help produce future-ready professionals capable of contributing to India’s growing technological landscape.
