
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A two-day International Conference on Dry Beneficiation (DRYBEN 2026) commenced today at Beldih Club, Jamshedpur, drawing enthusiastic participation from industry leaders, academicians, researchers, and technology providers from India and abroad. Organised by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter, the conference aims to foster dialogue, knowledge sharing, and advancement in emerging dry beneficiation technologies across the minerals and coal sectors.
The inaugural session was attended by Sandeep Kumar, VP Raw Materials, Tata Steel; Dipankar Dasgupta, EIC IBMD, Tata Steel; Atanu Ranjan Pal, CTO Process, Tata Steel and Chairman, IIM Jamshedpur Chapter; and Veerendra Singh, Convenor, DRYBEN 2026.
The conference has attracted over 240 participants from diverse domains, creating a vibrant platform for technical exchange and discussions on innovative and sustainable dry beneficiation practices.
The first day featured a plenary session followed by two technical sessions focusing on sorting technologies, comminution, and dry gravity concentration, along with a strategic panel discussion on dry beneficiation.
The second day will include four specialised sessions covering advancements in dry gravity separation, electrostatic and magnetic separation, as well as auxiliary technologies such as dust extraction, pneumatic conveying, and drying systems.
