
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand’s cultural capital is set to witness an extraordinary confluence of literature, culture, cinema and intellectual dialogue as the Jamshedpur Literature Festival unfolds on December 20–21 at Hotel Ramada in Bistupur.
Organized by the Vidyadeep Foundation, the two-day event will bring together celebrated authors, Padma Shri awardees, business leaders, journalists and film personalities for a vibrant celebration of ideas and creativity.
Business, Markets and the Marwari Code
The festival’s inaugural day begins with an insightful session at 2:30 PM, led by renowned entrepreneur and investor Banwari Lal Mittal, MD of Sasta Sundar. Mittal will decode the wisdom of Marwari proverbs and their relevance to modern business strategy, drawing from his book Cracking the Marwari Code.
He will be in conversation with Singapore-based author and Merchant Navy Captain Vinod Kumar Dubey.
Changing India, Changing Media
At 3:30 PM, the spotlight shifts to media and journalism. Dr. Anjum Sharma, a rising media voice and the face of the acclaimed YouTube interview series Sangat, will discuss the evolving landscape of digital storytelling. The dialogue will be moderated by senior Jamshedpur journalist Sanjay Mishra.
From Silent Films to OTT: The Big Entertainment Shift
The entertainment segment at 4:30 PM will feature acclaimed actor Rajesh Jais, who will engage with students of film and theatre on cinema’s changing ecosystem and Jharkhand’s growing opportunities in filmmaking.
Screenwriter D.N. Ojha and former Delhi School of Journalism Director Dr. Bharti Gore will join him for a panel on the evolution of cinema from the silent era to the OTT age. The session will be moderated by Prof. M.K. Pandey of Delhi University.
Honouring India’s Padma Shri Icons
A grand felicitation ceremony at 5:30 PM will honour a remarkable lineup of Padma Shri awardees whose contributions reflect India’s cultural richness, tribal heritage and spirit of social change.

Book Launches to Add Literary Spark
Dr. Sandhya Sinha of the organizing team shared that several noteworthy books and covers will be unveiled, including Psychology of Self Talk by Lucknow-based author Dr. Manju Agrawal.

Calling it a celebration of ideas and community spirit, committee member Abhishek Agrawal ‘Goldy’ urged students, teachers, artists, authors and entrepreneurs to participate.
