UditVani, Jamshedpur : Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi chaired a review meeting on Saturday at the collectorate building to assess the progress of development schemes funded under Untied Fund, DMFT, NITI Aayog, and MP/MLA LAD.
Expressing dissatisfaction over delays in several projects, the DC directed officials to set realistic completion timelines at the approval stage itself and cautioned that accountability will be fixed in cases of unwarranted delay.
During the review, projects related to bridges, culverts, approach roads, PCC roads, drinking water sources, and additional classrooms in schools were discussed. The DC ordered expeditious completion of pending works, submission of technical reports where progress was lacking, and initiation of fresh tenders if required. He also instructed strict action against contractors showing negligence, poor quality, or laxity.
“Ensuring timely completion is the responsibility of engineering departments. Executive engineers must regularly inspect construction sites and verify physical progress,” the DC emphasised.
