
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Tata Steel’s Corporate Services division has successfully concluded the Van Mahotsav 2025 celebrations, held from July 1 to 7, with the plantation of 1,721 saplings across Jamshedpur.
The annual initiative reflects Tata Steel’s deep-rooted commitment to environmental sustainability and enriching urban green spaces.
The plantation drive saw active participation from Tata Steel employees, volunteers, local communities, and environmental enthusiasts.
A diverse mix of native and ornamental saplings—including Putranjiva, Bakul, Sita Ashok, Kachan, Spathodea, Tabebuia, Karanj, Jungle Jalebi, Simar, Arjun, and Siris—were sourced from Tata Steel’s in-house Tree Bank, reinforcing efforts to boost biodiversity.
Location-Wise Plantation Details:
July 1: 400 saplings at Sewage Pumping Station, Ulidih
July 2: 150 saplings near riverbed, ATBCL Roundabout
July 3: 355 saplings along 19 No. Farm Road to prevent encroachment
July 4: 126 ornamental saplings (Jarul, Kanchan, Mahogany) at CRM Bara
July 5: 305 saplings at Jamshedpur Nature Trail, CH Area
July 6: Plantation at C2 Quarters Area, ISWP, in the presence of senior leaders including D.B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and Sanjeev Kumar Choudhury, President, Tata Workers’ Union
July 7: 130 saplings near Image Diagnostic, Apex Hospital Road, New Baradwari, in collaboration with All India Women’s Conference; an additional 50 saplings were planted in Jubilee Park by the Horticulture Services department of Tata Steel UISL
Parallel celebrations were also held at Tata Steel’s West Bokaro and Noamundi Raw Material locations, reflecting a broader organizational push toward ecological balance, responsible mining, and community-inclusive green practices.
With the addition of over 1,700 trees to Jamshedpur’s landscape, Van Mahotsav 2025 marks another step forward in Tata Steel’s journey of sustainable urban development and environmental stewardship
