Uditvani Jamshedpur : What began as a platform to build leadership skills soon turned into a disciplined routine that made students at the Residential Bridge Course (RBC) centre more responsible, active, and community-minded. Ravi Pathak (name changed), the senior-most student, was elected as the first ‘President’ of the RBC centre.
Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “We did a lot of mischief in the beginning, but soon realized the value of a safe and supportive space. When I became president, I wanted to inspire others and make a difference.” Today, Ravi visits underserved areas with teachers to motivate children, emphasizing that education is the key to self-reliance and breaking the cycle of poverty.
Ravi, along with peers Parth and Avik, was among the first students to join Masti Ki Pathshala, an initiative by Tata Steel Foundation to promote equitable education.
In 2018, 46 boys from the Tinplate centre were mainstreamed into Kashidih CBSE Board English Medium School. By 2024, eight students appeared for board exams—three secured first division (highest score: 69%), while three more scored above 55% in second division, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
