UditVani, Jamshedpur : Police arrested seven persons involved in a series of criminal activities, including house robbery, snatching, and firing, in different areas of the city.
Acting on a tip-off, a late-night raid was conducted near the Nildih- based Dalma Road, where the suspects were found hiding in bushes and planning another criminal act.
During the operation, police recovered firearms, including pistols and other sharp-edged weapons.
City SP Kumar Shivashish provided details during a press briefing, stating that the suspects were caught red-handed while preparing for another offense.
Confession Reveals Involvement in Major Loot Case
During interrogation, the accused confessed to being involved in the April 28 robbery at the residence of a retired schoolteacher in the Sidhgora area.
They also admitted to multiple snatching incidents in Telco and Sidhgora. The gang typically used a car to execute their crimes, making it challenging for police to track them down.
Interestingly, police had earlier arrested some gang members from the same location, which ultimately led them to uncover the larger network behind the recent crimes.
Gang Active in Other Districts
The arrested criminals are reportedly part of a larger inter-district gang that has been operating not only in Jamshedpur but also in Dhanbad and nearby regions.
The Jamshedpur police are now coordinating with other district police units to gather more information on the gang’s operations and further criminal records.
Two More Arrested in Sakchi Firing Case
In a separate case, police have arrested two suspects involved in a recent firing incident in the Sakchi area.
The incident, which resulted from a financial dispute between the Danish and Nadeem gangs, fortunately caused no injuries.
The two accused were apprehended while traveling in a car along the Swarnarekha Link Road. Police recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from their possession. The arrested individuals, affiliated with the Danish gang, have confessed to opening fire during the dispute.
All Accused in Judicial Custody
Following interrogation, all nine arrested individuals have been sent to judicial custody.
City SP Kumar Shivashish confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and more arrests may follow as police continue efforts to dismantle the gang’s network.
