Jamshedpur : A tragic incident occurred on Friday at Satanala Dam in Jamshedpur, where two young men lost their lives due to drowning.
The deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar Singh, a resident of Vijayanagar, Golmuri, and Amarjeet Singh of Golpahari, Parsudih.
They had gone to the dam for a fun outing alongwith their friends, Prince Kumar and Rahul Kumar.
Swept Away in Deep Waters
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, both victims ventured into deep waters while swimming and drowned within moments.
Upon receiving news of the mishap, their friends and local residents rushed to the spot. After much effort, they managed to retrieve both bodies from the water.
Rushed to Hospital, but Too Late
The duo was immediately taken to Tata Main Hospital by car, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. The tragedy brought immense grief to their families. The atmosphere at the hospital turned somber as soon as their loved ones arrived.
Mourning in the Neighborhood
Ashish Kumar Singh was employed as a guard in S.I.S. Security, while Amarjeet Singh ran his personal car on rent. Their untimely demise has left their neighborhoods and acquaintances in deep mourning.
Questions Raised Over Safety Measures
The incident has raised serious concerns over the lack of safety arrangements at Satanala Dam. There were no warning signs or supervision in place at the location. Could this tragedy have been avoided? That’s the pressing question now facing the district administration.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the mortuary at Tata Main Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The police have started investigating into the incident.
