Jamshedpur : A chassis driver Sanjeev Srivastava (54) died in a fight over a land dispute at Gadra under Parsudih police station area.
Neighbours allegedly beat him up with sticks and rods and he sustained serious injuries .
He later died at the Tata Motors Hospital during the course of treatment.
The deceased’s daughter Supriya Srivastava said that when she was cooking in the house on Monday evening, her father came out and went out of the door saying something.
The neighbours felt that he was telling them something, due to which some of them including Santosh, Anand, Rohit and Ayush surrounded him and beat up with kick-punches and iron rods.
Family members rushed him to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. Supriya said that her father was a driver and spent most of the time out of the house driving the chassis of Tata Motors.
On getting information about the incident, Parsudih police reached the spot and began investigation.
The body has been sent for post -mortem, and the police initiated a detailed investigation.
Local residents were shocked over the incident. They want the police to unravel the mystery behind the murder.
