Udit Vani, Jamshedpur: April 14: Moving beyond the conventional focus on JEE and NEET, students of Classes IX to XII at Little Flower School were introduced to a broader academic landscape through an enlightening career guidance session conducted by Sandeep Kumar Mallick (IIT Kharagpur student) and Vishal Kumar (IIT alumnus) on 1 April 2026.
The session aimed to expand students’ awareness of diverse career pathways in science and technology.
The speakers highlighted several competitive examinations beyond JEE and NEET, including NDA, IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), ISI, CMI, NEST, and CUET, encouraging students to explore options aligned with their individual interests and strengths.
A major focus of the discussion was on government Olympiads, with emphasis on their long-term benefits. Students were guided on how Olympiads help develop deep conceptual understanding, enhance analytical and problem-solving skills, and provide exposure to national and international platforms.
The speakers also explained how such achievements can open doors to prestigious institutions like IISc, IISERs, and ISI, as well as research opportunities in organisations such as ISRO, DRDO, and TIFR.
Encouraging a shift from rote learning to genuine understanding, the speakers urged students to begin early, stay curious, and cultivate scientific thinking.
Their insights motivated students to look beyond conventional routes and embrace a more exploratory and informed approach to their academic journeys.
The session proved to be both informative and inspiring, reinforcing the idea that success in science is not defined by a single path, but by the willingness to explore many.
