Udit vani, jamshedpur: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Auto Foundation (BAF), the CSR arm of Bajaj Auto Limited, to implement the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) program on campus. The initiative aims to enhance the employability of engineering students through industry-oriented training.
Dedicated BEST center to be set up on campus
Under this collaboration, a dedicated BEST Center will be established at NIT Jamshedpur. Bajaj Auto will invest around Rs 9 crore under its CSR initiative to develop the center with modern laboratories and advanced manufacturing infrastructure aligned with industry needs.
The facility is expected to provide students with hands-on exposure to the latest manufacturing technologies and practical learning environments.
Focus on industry-ready skills and practical learning
The BEST program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements. It will integrate contemporary, industry-relevant curriculum with project-based and experiential learning methods.
Students will gain exposure to emerging technologies, real-world industrial challenges, and practical problem-solving techniques, making them better prepared for future job roles.
Curriculum designed by industry experts
The course structure has been developed by senior officials and expert engineers from Bajaj Auto Limited. It will be delivered by NIT faculty members, ensuring a blend of academic depth and industry experience.
Faculty members will also undergo specialized training to effectively conduct the program. Students who successfully complete the course will receive certification, adding value to their professional credentials.

Representing Bajaj Auto, Sudhakar Gudipati (Vice President, CSR) and Vinita Shekhawat (Management Trainee) were present at the event.
From NIT Jamshedpur, Director Prof. Gautam Sutradhar, Deputy Director Prof. Ram Vinay Sharma, Registrar (In-charge) Prof. Saroj Kumar Sarangi, and several deans and department heads including Prof. Amaresh Kumar, Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof. Mrityunjay Kumar Sinha, Prof. K.B. Yadav, Prof. Raj Ballav, Dr. Madhu Singh, and Dr. Parmanand Kumar attended the program.
