
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Demonstrating high vigilance and swift response, the security team of Tata Steel successfully thwarted multiple theft attempts within the plant premises, once again underlining its commitment to safeguarding valuable industrial assets.
In the first incident, reported early Tuesday morning around 4:30 am, a patrolling unit intercepted two suspects near the CSD railway track in Zone -3.
The accused, identified as Vikram Pradhan (23) and Mohammad Bilal (17), were apprehended while allegedly attempting to smuggle out approximately 38 Kgs of insulated copper cable.
The material, believed to be stolen, was recovered during a search operation conducted on the spot.
In another instance, around 1 am, security personnel detected suspicious movement in the LD-3 TSCR store area.
A youth identified as Vikash Ghosh (17), was detained under questionable circumstances.
Although no stolen material was recovered from his possession, officials stated that the timely intervention prevented any potential theft.
Continuing their crackdown, the security team also apprehended Mohammad Kasim (46) at around 10 pm from the TSDPL scrapyard in Zone-4.
He was found engaging in suspicious activities inside a restricted zone, raising concerns of possible intent to commit theft or trespass.
All the accused individuals were subsequently handed over to the local police for further legal action.
Sources within the company said that continuous patrolling, strategic surveillance, and rapid coordination among security personnel have played a crucial role in preventing repeated attempts of theft.
