
UDIT VANI Ranchi: Following his victory in the recent municipal elections, newly elected Chairman of Chakradharpur Nagar Parishad, Sunny Oraon, paid a courtesy visit to Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Kanke Road in Ranchi.
This was Sunny Oraon’s first formal meeting with the Chief Minister after assuming office as Chairman. During the interaction, he sought the blessings of the Chief Minister, who extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on his electoral success.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren appreciated the vital role the newly elected chairman will play in the development of Chakradharpur. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that state government welfare schemes and development initiatives effectively reach every citizen.
Sunny Oraon expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development in Chakradharpur, strengthening basic infrastructure, and addressing the concerns of local residents.
Sunny Oraon, son of JMM MLA Sukhram Oraon, secured victory by defeating BJP-supported candidate Vijay Singh Gagrai by a margin of 1,061 votes in a closely contested election for the Chairman’s post of Chakradharpur Nagar Parishad. His win is seen as bolstering the JMM-led alliance’s position in the urban local bodies of West Singhbhum district.
The meeting underscores enhanced coordination between local leadership and the state government aimed at ensuring faster and more inclusive development in the region.
