
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry and stable weather conditions across Jharkhand till February 19, with misty mornings and clear to partly cloudy skies over the next four days.
No significant synoptic system currently prevails over the state. North-westerly winds are dominating the region and are expected to continue over the next few days, resulting in persistent dry weather conditions across Jharkhand.
No rainfall was recorded at any reporting station in the past 24 hours.
As per the forecast, February 16 and 17 will witness morning mist followed by mainly clear skies, while February 18 and 19 are likely to see mist during early hours with partly cloudy conditions later in the day. However, the weather will remain dry throughout the period.
Temperature variations were observed across districts. The highest maximum temperature of 32.8°C in the past 24 hours was recorded at Chaibasa, while the lowest minimum temperature of 8.3°C was reported at Gumla.
Among major observatories, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 26.7°C, which was 0.7 degrees below normal, and a minimum of 10.4°C, 2.6 degrees below normal.
Jamshedpur registered a maximum of 31.1°C and a minimum of 13.4°C. Daltonganj reported a maximum of 31.4°C and a minimum of 9.1°C, while Bokaro recorded 31.1°C as the day’s high.
Chaibasa reported 32.4°C.
The lowest visibility of 2,000 metres was observed at Jamshedpur.
Automated Weather Station data from Bokaro, Deoghar, East Singhbhum, Koderma, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Latehar, Lohardaga, Pakur, Saraikela, Simdega and West Singhbhum also indicated dry conditions.
With north-westerly winds set to continue dominating the state and no major weather system developing, Jharkhand is likely to experience stable and dry conditions over the coming days.
