
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Tata Steel has announced a series of significant leadership changes, including the appointment of Saroj Kumar Banerjee as the new Managing Director of Tata Pigments Limited.
Banerjee, who currently serves as Chief Safety (Raw Materials) at Tata Steel, has been deputed to Tata Pigments Limited at his existing level for a period of three years.
He will assume charge as Managing Director of the company.
During his deputation, Banerjee will report administratively to the Vice President – Safety, Health and Sustainability at Tata Steel and will operate out of Jamshedpur.
The appointment was formalised through an official circular issued under the signature of Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T.V. Narendran.
Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Singh Harshana, an IL-2 grade officer who had been serving as Managing Director of Tata Pigments Limited on deputation, will return to Tata Steel.
Upon his return, he will be appointed Chief Logistics at his existing level.
He will report to the Vice President – TQM, GSP and Supply Chain and will continue to be based in Jamshedpur.
This change will take effect from February 15.
In addition to these top-level appointments, Tata Steel has also implemented organisational restructuring involving two IL-3 grade heads.
Shiv Shankar Sahu, currently Head – Construction (Civil), OMQ Joda, and FMD, E&P, Civil Construction, P&C West Bokaro, has been assigned to Sustainance Projects on a temporary six-month assignment effective February 1.
Functionally, he will report to the Chief Construction (Civil), while administratively he will report to the Chief P&C, West Bokaro.
Further, Abhinav Prakash, Head – BPE IM Jamshedpur (Business Performance Enhancement – Operations), has been transferred as Head – Process Excellence, Centre of Excellence (One Supply Chain).
In his new role, he will functionally report to the Chief, CoE (One Supply Chain) and will continue to operate from Jamshedpur. This transfer will come into effect from March 15.
The latest reshuffle reflects Tata Steel’s continued focus on strengthening leadership roles and enhancing operational efficiency across its verticals and subsidiaries.
