
UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a major breakthrough, Jugsalai police have solved a high-profile burglary case within 24 hours, arresting a suspect and recovering stolen jewellery and cash valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.
The incident occurred on the night of February 1 at a residential house near Seva Sadan Hospital on M.E. School Road. Taking advantage of the late hours, the burglar entered the house, forced open an almirah and made away with diamond-studded ornaments, gold and silver jewellery, along with cash.
After receiving the complaint, the police immediately swung into action, forming a special team to investigate the case. CCTV footage from nearby locations was meticulously analyzed, while the dog squad and local intelligence inputs were deployed to trace the suspect.
Based on the evidence collected, the police identified and apprehended Ritik Kumar Singh during a targeted raid.
Subsequent interrogation led to the recovery of all stolen items on the accused’s disclosure.
The seized valuables include gold bangles, bracelets, chains, rings, lockets, coins, diamond jewellery, silver ornaments and a large amount of cash.
Officials said the combined value of the recovered property is estimated to be close to Rs 1 crore.
Police also recovered items allegedly used during the crime, including clothes, a muffler, a handkerchief and a pillow cover, indicating that the burglary was executed with careful planning.
Further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused has links to other similar cases or accomplices. Legal proceedings in the matter are continuing.
