
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory for shallow fog or mist at isolated places across Jharkhand during morning hours from February 2 to 7.
The foggy conditions are expected to give way to partly cloudy or mainly clear skies later in the day, with dry weather prevailing throughout the period.
According to the latest assessment, shallow fog or mist may occur at isolated locations between February 2 and 4, followed by partly cloudy conditions.
From February 5 onwards, skies are likely to turn mainly clear, a trend expected to continue through February 6 and 7.
Meteorological analysis indicates the presence of a Western Disturbance in the form of a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining regions, extending between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
An associated upper-air trough in the westerlies, with its axis around 7.6 km along longitude 68°E north of latitude 30°N, continues to persist.
Additionally, an induced cyclonic circulation has shifted from north Rajasthan to south Haryana and adjoining north Rajasthan, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Despite these systems, no significant weather activity is anticipated over Jharkhand.
Dry conditions prevailed across the state, with light fog or mist reported at isolated places. Gumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Jharkhand at 7.8°C.
Ranchi registered a minimum of 11.4°C, Jamshedpur 14.4°C, Daltonganj 9.1°C, Bokaro 10.1°C and Chaibasa 13.6°C.
Most parts of the state recorded minimum temperatures above 10°C.
On the daytime front, Chaibasa (PT) logged the highest maximum temperature at 29.8°C.
Overall, the IMD expects stable weather conditions to continue, marked by mild winter mornings, clear to partly cloudy days and dry conditions across Jharkhand in the coming days.
