
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Following the announcement of the Municipal Elections-2026, administrative preparations in East Singhbhum district have gathered momentum.
Acting on the directions of the District Election Officer (Municipal), a review meeting of senior officers and in-charges of all election-related cells was convened at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Nagendra Paswan.
During the meeting, the DDC held detailed discussions on the roles, responsibilities and inter-departmental coordination of the 13 cells constituted for the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the municipal elections.
He directed all cell in-charges to prepare and implement time-bound action plans strictly in accordance with the guidelines of the State Election Commission.
For the successful conduct of Municipal Elections–2026, 13 cells have been formed, including Election,d Personnel, Ballot Paper, Materials, Vehicles, Law and Order, Helpline and Public Grievance, Observer, Training, Media, Election Expenditure Monitoring, Information Technology and Control Room.
Clear instructions were issued to the Personnel Cell to assess requirements and deploy officers and staff as per need, while the Training Cell was directed to ensure timely completion of training for polling personnel.
The Materials and Vehicle Cells were instructed to ensure availability of all essential resources well before polling day.
The Helpline and Public Grievance Cell was asked to remain proactive for prompt redressal of voters’ complaints.
Emphasising strict adherence to Election Commission guidelines, the DDC urged all cell in-charges to work in close coordination to ensure that the municipal elections in Mango Municipal Corporation, Jugsalai Municipal Council and Chakulia Nagar Panchayat are conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner.
