UditVani, Jamshedpur: A sudden change in weather brought much-needed relief across parts of Jharkhand as rain, accompanied by hailstorms, thunderstorms, and lightning, swept through several regions last evening and in the night.
The temperature witnessed a sharp drop of up to 4°C, easing the prevailing sweltering conditions.
On Wednesday evening, widespread rain lashed areas in and around Jamshedpur, offering respite from the intense heat.
The showers were accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, lightning, and hail, creating a dramatic shift in weather conditions.
According to the latest weather advisory, the state is likely to experience continued instability over the coming days.
Today on April 30, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 kmph, along with hailstorms, are expected at isolated places over eastern and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand.
The rest of the state may witness similar conditions with wind speeds of 40–50 Kmph.
From May 1 to May 5, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places across the state.
However, north-western parts may see relatively lesser impact on May 2 and May 3.
The Meteorological department has issued an alert, urging residents to remain cautious over the next three days, particularly during thunderstorms and lightning activity.
People have been advised to stay indoors during adverse weather and avoid taking shelter under trees or near electric poles, to avoid lightning strikes.
