
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in several parts of Jharkhand over the next four days.
September 15: Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) likely at isolated places across the state.
September 16: Heavy rainfall expected over southern, eastern, and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds may also occur at isolated locations.
September 17: North-eastern and adjoining central regions are likely to witness heavy rain, along with thunderstorm and gusty winds at isolated places.
September 18: Heavy rainfall forecast for northern and adjoining central parts of the state, accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon has started its withdrawal from parts of West Rajasthan, three days earlier than the normal date of September 17.
The withdrawal line currently passes through Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, and Barmer. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal from more parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat in the next 2–3 days.
According to IMD, a low-pressure area over north Telangana and adjoining Vidarbha persists, with an associated cyclonic circulation up to 4.5 Km above mean sea level.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards towards central Vidarbha and later shift northwards. In addition, a trough in westerlies runs along longitude 84°E, north of latitude 23°N, while an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the southeast Bay of Bengal between 3.1 and 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
