UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for several parts of Jharkhand over the next two days, warning of gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph.
According to the IMD forecast, on October 6, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places across the state, except in the northern region. Similar weather conditions are expected on October 7, excluding the north-eastern part of Jharkhand.
The low-pressure area over north Bihar and its neighbourhood has weakened, but the associated cyclonic circulation continues to persist over northeast Bihar and adjoining areas, extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level.
Additionally, a trough line from north Bihar to north Odisha across Jharkhand at around 1.5 km above mean sea level is continuing to influence the state’s weather patterns.
Meteorologists have described monsoon activity in Jharkhand as normal, indicating the continuation of seasonal rainfall and atmospheric conditions typical for this period.
The southwest monsoon is expected to linger over Jharkhand for the next few days, with the recent depression over the region contributing to the extended stay of monsoon across the state.
