
UditVani, Jamshedpur : East Tech 2025, a three-day defence symposium themed “Atmanirbharta Se Samprabhuta”, was inaugurated at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi today.
The event is jointly organised by HQ Eastern Command of the Indian Army, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Bringing together the Armed Forces, MSMEs, startups, and academia, the symposium aims to boost indigenous innovation, dual-use technologies, and operational readiness of India’s defence ecosystem.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, inaugurated the event, calling it a “historic milestone” in India’s self-reliance journey.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren reaffirmed the state’s support, while minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth urged MSMEs and youth to help achieve India’s defence export target of Rs 50,000 crore.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan stressed the need for innovation in warfare, while SIDM President Rajinder Singh Bhatia and GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari highlighted the strong industry participation with 175 exhibitors and over 400 delegates.
Day one featured a high-level panel discussion on operationalising dual-use technologies, along with B2G meetings and product displays from more than 170 companies.
