Udit Vani Jamshedpur : Police arrested Prashant Kumar Pandey accused in JMM woman worker Asha Devi Bhumij murder case.
Her body was recovered from the river under Barabanki bridge in MGM police station area on November 12. Prashant Kumar is a resident of Baridih colony.
MGM police station in-charge said there was a love affair between accused Prashant and deceased Asha Devi for the last three years.
According to the police, the woman was pressurizing Prashant for money, due to which he committed the murder.
During investigation, the police got information that the deceased was repeatedly demanding money from the accused. Due to this, Prashant got upset and killed the woman and threw the body in the river below Barabanki bridge.
An FIR for murder was registered against Prashant Pandey and Ramesh Sahu on the complaint of the deceased’s son Mahesh Singh Bhumij.
Prashant was arrested by the police and sent to jail on Saturday after medical examination.
The deceased was a resident of Baridih area. Police are also investigating other aspects of the case
