
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The NSS Unit–1 of DBMS College of Education organized a one-day awareness camp on April 18, 2026, at Dhanchtani village. The program was conducted on the occasion of World Heritage Day under the theme “Not Me But You – Let’s Build a Healthy Nation.”
The primary aim of the initiative was to create awareness among rural residents and school students about health, hygiene, and personal cleanliness. The camp focused on promoting healthy habits and preventive care in daily life.
During the session, NSS volunteers highlighted essential practices such as washing hands with soap before meals and after using the toilet, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables regularly, and drinking sufficient water.
They also stressed the importance of brushing teeth twice a day, maintaining personal hygiene through regular bathing, wearing clean clothes, and covering the mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing. Emphasis was also placed on living in a clean environment and avoiding unhygienic surroundings.
Participation of Volunteers
NSS volunteers including Siddhi Jalan, Srishti Kumari, Ayush Prasher, Rohit Poddar, Parimal Paul, and Reema Roy actively participated in the awareness drive and effectively communicated important health messages to the villagers.
Support from College Administration
The success of the program was supported by the college administration, including Secretary Priya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita, Vice Principal Dr. Monika Uppal, along with faculty members and staff.
Message for Society
The NSS unit conveyed the message that “A healthy individual builds a healthy society and a strong nation.” Participants were encouraged to adopt hygienic practices and contribute towards building a healthier community.
