UditVani, Jamshedpur : It’s a familiar foe but a new era for Jamshedpur FC as they kick off their 2025 Super Cup campaign against FC Goa—the very team that denied them glory in last year’s final.
Under the guidance of new head coach Steven Dias, the Men of Steel are determined to turn last year’s heartbreak into motivation and make a strong start in Group B. Alongside FC Goa, the group features NorthEast United FC and Inter Kashi, making for a highly competitive beginning.
Jamshedpur’s 27-member squad blends experience with fresh talent. Retained foreign players Lazar Cirkovic, Stephen Eze, and Rei Tachikawa are joined by newcomers Nikola Stojanovic, Madih Talal, and striker Messi Bouli. Midfield stalwarts Pronay Halder and Germanpreet Singh will anchor the team alongside Stojanovic and Talal, while pace and width come from wide players Vincy Barretto, Mohammed Sanan, Sreekuttan VS, and newcomer Rosenberg Gabriel.
The defence, marshalled by Cirkovic, Eze, and Parthik Chaudhari, will look to protect goalkeeper Albino Gomes.
Reflecting on his first major competition in charge, Dias said, “Our preparation has been very good.
Everyone is ready mentally and physically. Last year we lost in the final, and that was a learning experience. We’re facing a strong side, but we’re ready for the challenge and determined to give our best.”
Midfielder Pronay Halder echoed the coach’s confidence, saying, “Coach Steven has brought great energy and belief into the team. Everyone knows their role and feels confident. If we play with the same hunger and togetherness, we can make the fans proud and go all the way this time.”
Having been semi-finalists two seasons ago and finalists last year, Jamshedpur FC aim to finally turn near misses into silverware and secure the AFC qualification spot they narrowly missed.
With renewed leadership and a solid pre-season, the Men of Steel are ready to begin their campaign by rewriting the script against FC Goa.
