UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC showcased grit and fighting spirit as they rallied from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against NorthEast United FC in a pulsating Super Cup clash at the GMC Bambolim Stadium on Wednesday.
After trailing 0-2 until the 43rd minute, the Men of Steel turned the tide through determined play and crucial headers from Pronay Halder and Messi Bouli, earning a valuable point in dramatic fashion.

The match started with Jamshedpur pressing early — Puia’s driving run in the 13th minute set up Sanan, who narrowly missed from close range. However, NorthEast United struck first when José Martín capitalised on a rebound in the 20th minute, followed by Ajarie’s finish nine minutes later to double the lead.
Despite the setback, Jamshedpur refused to relent. In the 40th minute, Messi Bouli came close with a powerful attempt just over the bar. The breakthrough came shortly before halftime when Rei Tachikawa’s perfectly delivered free-kick found Pronay Halder, whose towering header reduced the deficit to 1-2.
The second half saw Jamshedpur FC dominate possession and dictate play. Rei Tachikawa tested the goalkeeper with a fierce long-range strike in the 62nd minute, while Vincy Barretto’s 82nd-minute cross almost led to an equaliser before being tipped over.
The persistence finally paid off in the 89th minute — Rei’s precise long ball found Messi Bouli, who rose above the defenders to head home and complete the comeback at 2-2.
Jamshedpur nearly snatched victory in stoppage time when Bouli attempted an audacious backheel and forced a last-second corner, but NorthEast held firm.
With this hard-fought draw, Jamshedpur FC demonstrated their trademark resilience and attacking flair.
The Men of Steel will next take on I-League champions Inter Kashi on November 1 at 4:30 PM.
