
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A one-day district-level workshop on Swachh Survekshan Gramin (SSG) 2025 was conducted at the East Singhbhum Collectorate under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.
The workshop was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Nagendra Paswan and aimed at enhancing preparedness for the upcoming rural sanitation survey scheduled from June 26 to August .
During the session, the DDC emphasized that the objective of the survey is not just to secure rankings but to embed sustainable sanitation behavior across communities.
He stressed the importance of active participation from all departments to ensure readiness prior to the arrival of the survey team.
Engineers from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Divisions of Jamshedpur and Adityapur shared insights on the methodology of the survey, which is being carried out by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India. The survey will be conducted by an independent agency—Academy of Management Studies—at the village level. It will assess the effectiveness and usage of initiatives under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM).
All departments were directed to complete necessary preparations, including mobile app-based feedback collection, before the commencement of the survey.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation outlined various indicators and best practices under the mission.
The DDC underlined focused action on key areas such as toilet usage, solid and liquid waste management, plastic waste disposal, and source-level waste segregation.
It was highlighted that the Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2025 mobile app is available on the Google Play Store, where citizens can provide feedback across 13 sanitation-related indicators, including cleanliness of public assets, hygiene in schools and hospitals, waste segregation, water source conditions, and overall visual cleanliness.
The workshop saw participation from officials of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department (Jamshedpur and Adityapur divisions), District Public Relations Officer, DPM from JSLPS, Panchayati Raj DPM, district and block coordinators of SBM(G)/JJM, PO MGNREGA, and all Block WASH Coordinators.
