Uditvani Jamshedpur : Several parts of Jharkhand is expected to witness shallow to moderate fog during the next 48- hours.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast in this regard today.
The shallow fog would reduce surface visibility below 1000 metres in isolated places, said a Met official.
The Met department is yet to declare complete onset of winter in Jharkhand as the minimum temperature was hovering above 13 degree Celsius.
Onset of winter is declared when the night reading ( read minimum temperature) drops below 13 degree Celsius.
Ranchi and Bokaro today recorded minimum temperature of 13.5 degree Celsius while Deoghar recorded 13.6 degree Celsius.
Jamshedpur today recorded minimum temperature of 14.8 degree Celsius while Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum district recorded minimum temperature of 14.6 degree Celsius today.
Seraikela recorded 14.9 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature witnessed a drop at most places across Jharkhand during the past 24-hours due to the dominating north- westerly wind.
According to Met statistics, Garhwa recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 12.7°C yesterday.
Several other places in north western Jharkhand recorded around 13-14 degree Celsius in past 24- hours.
The forecast suggests no significant changes in minimum temperature in the next three to four days thereafter, the minimum readings would again witness a slight drop.
