UditVani, Jamshedpur : In light of the prevailing heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, all government and private schools in Jamshedpur will remain closed on Tuesday, July 15, as a precautionary measure. The directive was issued by the East Singhbhum district administration on Monday evening, citing safety concerns for students and staff.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), very heavy rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, over the next 24 hours. Jamshedpur has already witnessed consistent downpours since Sunday night, leading to waterlogging in several low-lying areas, traffic disruptions, and a sharp drop in visibility during morning hours.
The district education officer confirmed that the decision to suspend physical classes was made after reviewing the IMD’s latest alerts and in consultation with the disaster management authorities. Parents have been advised to avoid sending children to coaching centres or tuitions and to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
Meanwhile, civic bodies have been placed on high alert to respond to rain-related emergencies.
The administration has also appealed to citizens to report any incidents of flooding, tree falls, or infrastructure damage through the local control room helpline.
With the monsoon gaining momentum across the state, residents are urged to remain cautious, follow official advisories, and stay updated through verified channels.
