Uditvani, Jamshedpur: Acting on a tip-off received by the Senior Superintendent of Police, the police successfully foiled a major robbery plan in the Govindpur police station area.
A specially formed police team conducted a raid and arrested six notorious members of an interstate criminal gang who were plotting the crime.
The police recovered one country-made pistol, one live cartridge, and other items related to the planned robbery.
According to police sources, information was received that some criminals were planning a robbery in the Govindpur area.
Given the seriousness of the information, the SSP directed the formation of a special team, which swiftly raided the suspected location and apprehended the six gang members.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they were planning a well-organized robbery.
Based on their statements, the police also arrested a local buyer who had purchased stolen jewelry.
Stolen ornaments were recovered from his possession, and he has been sent to judicial custody.
The arrested criminals are known to have links with Jharkhand and neighboring states.
Their criminal backgrounds are currently under investigation. The police are also probing their wider criminal network and looking into other potential associates.
